“Back in the summer of 2019 I was in the UK with a family friend, visiting the small town we were both born in. There are great walking trails there and we went on a wonderful walk on a beautiful sunny day. I took many pictures. On my return, I wanted to celebrate the walk by having one of my pictures painted and give it to my friend. I was able to get this accomplished by posting a message in one of the local art stores. Michelina contacted me advising she could accomplish the task which she did in very quick order. The price was reasonable and Michelina was a delight to work with. “We chose to commission a painting from Michelina because we saw a similar painting at her home. The painting evoked tranquility and the beauty of autumn. “I first viewed an early version of the painting I would eventually commission hanging in Michelina’s home. The painting was of birch trees (my favourite), with a single falling red leaf. It was the exquisite form and shape of that falling leaf that struck me first. I felt she’d perfectly captured its graceful dance falling to the ground. I have always loved to watch leaves falling in such a graceful manner. The painting spoke to me of a time of change, rest and peace of mind.
Working with Michelina was pure pleasure. She worked expertly on capturing a colour for the sky that I loved and that would work well in our home. We love to move it to different spots in our home. Every fall season it lands in the front foyer where it welcomes our guests, and often elicits positive reactions and comments for its beauty.
